School of Athens

How can art be a mirror of society?
An Artwork in a certain period of time can be a mirror of society. Artists who painted different paintings all lived in different period of time. The paintings contain themes, thinkings and events in that period. As the time passed, themes and thinkings of people changed. Before and in the Middle Ages, most of the paintings had a theme of god and religion. But as the time passed the theme slowly changed from religion to real people during Renaissance period. So the paintings also have these themes and thinkings within them. The theme of real people also tells that all the people in this painting is real and Rapahel have painted the real history.

Who would i be?

If i could take a part in Raphael's drawing 'The school of Athens, I would b
e Hheraclitus. Hheraclitus was a greek Philosopher. He lived from about 540 to 470 B.C. He lived in a city called Ephesus. But his life isn't that well known because of his secretive life and personality. He was always obscure and believed in supernatural ideas. He also always thought of the world that is not real. This is like me. I like thinking of world that isn't real and think how it would be if it actually existed. I also believe in supernaturals like Ephesus di and always wonder about their existence and parts in the world. Me, like Hheraclitus, is kind of secretive and quiet.
